OLMC Adds Horse Racing to Casino Night
Casino Night at the Rockaway River Country Club in Denville on Saturday, June 2, 20112, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Building on the success of the past four years, horse racing has been added to the spectacular evening of exciting games,
fun, and fabulous prizes. Gamers may bet on actual races from the 1950’s that will be re-run throughout the evening.

Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco Visits OLMC
New Jersey State Republican Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco presented the legislative process to the fourth through eighth grade students
at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School. The visit coincided with a NJ government focused Social Studies curriculum.

Children's Author Daryl Cobb Visits OLMC
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School hosted the author, Daryl Cobb with funds from their 2011 Read-a-thon. The author, musician,
singer/songwriter promotes literacy through creative arts. Most of his written work is specifically for children, some of
which was originally created for his own two children as bedtime stories. Daryl Cobb’s published works include
"Bill the Bat Finds His Way Home,” “Do Pirates Go To School?,” “Henry Hare's Floppy Socks” and
“Bill the Bat Loves Halloween.”

OLMC Spelling Bee - 2012
A spelling Bee was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School as one way the school recognized academics during the 2012
Catholic Schools Week themed, “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.” Kindergarten through eighth grade students
participated in classroom Bees. The first place winner and runner up from each class showed their spelling prowess to the
entire student body.

Catholic Schools Week 2012
OLMC Operation Advent
The Second Grade Class of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School completed a service project they named “Operation Advent.” The entire
student body, their families, teachers and staff purchased over 100 gifts to provide a special Christmas for two families in need.
This is the fourth year Second Grade Teacher Debbie Gleeson has coordinated this service project. “Each year I am overwhelmed,
but not surprised by the generosity of the families in this school. That’s what makes OLMC so special. This is a true lesson in the
meaning of giving and Christmas,” Mrs. Gleeson explained.

OLMC 2011 Operation Advent
OLMC Celebrates All Saint's Day
For All Saints Day, OLMC studenst researched a Saint, and came to school dressed as that Saint for the Day.
Students attended Mass as their Saint and listened as Pastor, Fr. Tom Fallone encouraged them to become their own Saint.
It was a powerful message as
the children were challenged to start their journey to Sainthood. They were reminded the Saints are people like them that have
claimed their reward in Heaven.
