Testimonials

OLMC School provides a loving atmosphere in which our children are striving spiritually, academically, and socially. The staff is wonderful and dedicated to our children. Education begins in our homes and OLMC reflects the values that we hold as a family.
Grades: 2 and 4

Our family loves OLMC School because it is a wonderful learning environment centered on the family and community through teamwork and caring. By combining lessons in moral values with education and involving the entire family, our children learn to be good citizens, as well as loving members of an extended Christian family. Our children have teachers who keep them intrigued, so they’re eager to learn and enthusiastically return to school each day. Most importantly, our children—both very young—already have a knowledge of God (not an easy concept to teach to youngsters) since His Word is integrated throughout the school day. As members of the parish and school, our children are receiving the most well-rounded, comprehensive education possible. We love OLMC!
Grades: PreK-3 and 1

From the moment we moved to Boonton from Sussex County in 2005, OLMC has made us feel welcome. Both parish and school opened themselves up to our family and needs. The school has proved a Godsend for our daughter, a bright, high-energy but easily distracted kid. She adapted quickly to the change in schools and genuinely loves it.

Shortly after starting at OLMC we began finding little “I Love OLMC” notes around the house. Now in her second year, she remains enthusiastic about the school. Academically, we are very happy with the curriculum set forth by the school. Independent of our opinion, the Terra Nova tests show the school to be performing well above the national average. Personally, we see it working daily in our daughter’s test results, attitude, and well-being.

There is a true sense of community at the school, which is evidenced by the high parent participation. We are comfortable knowing many of our new friends are watching over our daughter throughout the day. With a new baby on the way, we have no question where he will attend school as soon as he is old enough!
Grade: 3

OLMC is a unique school, academically-strong, community-minded and focused on incorporating our Christianity in daily living. The expansion of the middle school in the past three years has been terrific for the students, who are transitioning to the rigors of high school. I think it is a credit to OLMC that our enrollment is on the rise at a time when other diocesan schools are struggling to remain open. I credit this to the outstanding faculty and administration, and the family commitment that perennially supports the school through its time, talent and treasure.

With children at so many grade levels (kindergarten, grade 3, grade 5, grade 6, and one at Oratory Prep having received a solid base in both academic content and study skills at OLMC), I can attest that soup to nuts, OLMC is a wonderful school.
Grades: Kindergarten, 3, 5, 6

We love OLMC School because:

Family atmosphere – because there are fewer total students in each grade and in the school, it’s easier to get to know most of the families. Also, the teachers and staff seem to know the families, not just the child. When talking with other parents, we agreed that there does not seem to be the peer pressure you may find in larger schools. Even at the preK level, my child is learning about religion but in a fun and understandable way. Well-rounded curriculum includes Spanish, music, art, and computers from early on.
Grades: PreK-4 and 2

Our family loves OLMC because the staff takes such personal interest in every child. Each of my three children feels that they are a special part of the school and that they contribute to the school. To us, this is key to raising adults who will be committed to making our world a better and more peaceful place for everyone.
Grades: 4 and 5

Our family loves OLMC School because it is our family. Our daughter graduates this year and all of those years were rich in sharing our lives—as community—as family. We have made many friends mostly through our participation in school activities, events, or by volunteering, whom we consider family. Many children have already graduated but they and their families remain close to us. It is something permanent that has been given to us as a gift through the school. We encourage everyone to get involved because the rewards are great.
Grade: 8

My children know that their teachers expect a lot from them academically; and I am grateful for the care the faculty takes for my kids’ emotional, spiritual, and social growth.
Grades: 2 and 5

We love OLMC because of what the teachers and staff have done for our daughter! From the moment she entered OLMC School, we knew that we found the right place for her. She has grown spiritually in her Catholic faith, emotionally, academically, and socially far beyond our expectations. The OLMC staff and families make our school a wonderful and safe learning environment. Our daughter treasures her school as a very happy place and we cherish the time that we can be involved as volunteers there. We love having such open lines of communication and mutual understanding with the staff. We are very fortunate to have such an excellent school nearby serving students from preschool through eighth grade with children from many faiths and towns. Our children have made such wonderful friends at OLMC and they will be able to grow through their years at OLMC School. We can’t wait for our younger daughter to start preK-3 later this year!

The school truly cares about the children!
Grade: Kindergarten

Our family loves OLMC School because it continues to instill the lifelong values that we started at home as parents, and this will continue long after they graduate. OLMC has enriched our family life in so many ways. Our two children love going to school at OLMC. They are excelling academically, while continually learning how to become persons of character and integrity. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and caring, as well as excellent role models. OLMC produces students who are strongly dedicated to their faith, values, and family—and my kids are living proof of that!
Grades: 2 and 4

As a family, we could list many reasons why we love OLMC. The academics are great. The teachers put their heart and soul into our kids and the administration listens to our concerns. But, the most important reason is how our children feel when they are here. They feel safe and loved. They feel at home. We believe that if they feel that way at school, they can't help but learn and grow. Every morning, when I drop my children at OLMC, they aren't leaving home they are going back home.
Grade: PreK-4, 1, 4, 6

Our family loves OLMC School because our children are learning so much more than just the “3 R’s”, and so much more than they would in public school. In addition to the religious education, they learn concern and compassion; values and morals; and how much it means to do something for others less fortunate than themselves.
Grades: 1 and 3

Our family values our Catholic faith and puts our faith first above all else. Catholic school allows our children the ability to live their faith openly, all day with others who share their same high morals, values, and ethics while receiving an education that is incomparable.
Grades: 1, 2, and 4

We love OLMC School because of its (O) Outstanding academics: We feel that our school is dedicated to teaching each child to reach their ultimate goal in learning; (L) Learning and living Christian values: The values that our son is learning at OLMC will follow him through the rest of his life in school, work, family, and marriage; (M) Motivated for Service: The staff, students, teachers, and parents all show such commitment to everything they do at the school. Whether it is a fundraiser, community service, or day-to-day, everyone at OLMC is committed to making the school a wonderful place; (C) Creating a compassionate community: OLMC is not just our son’s school, it is our second family. We know that we can trust everyone at our school to help us through whatever comes our way whether in school or at home.

As a mother, I can have access to open ears with administration and teachers. I like the family feel of a small school and the opportunities that I have for parent participation. In the words of my second grader, “I just like it!”
Grade: 2

We love OLMC because it is a special place where kids learn more than academics. More than just a school, OLMC is a community of people all working toward the same goal with enthusiasm.
Grades: 1, 4 and 6

As my kindergartener put it so beautifully, “We love Our Lady of Mount Carmel School because there are no bullies.“

As a single parent, I can ask the community of OLMC to help me when I am juggling work, home and parenting. The people help and reach out to support each other with no questions asked.|
